There is Something in the Water
On the west coast of Denmark, they are used to the sound of the waves just beyond the dunes. They're used to using nature on their doorstep as a sanctuary and pantry, for grazing and hunting, but now several discoveries of toxic PFAS substances have forced them to interact with nature in a new way.
When nature loses its innocence, you can fight, adapt or just carry on as before. At the North Sea, they do a bit of everything.
Can the surfer enjoy riding the waves when he knows there's more than just salt in the water? Why does the hunter strive to hunt when the ducks are flying around full of toxic fluoride? How long can we continue to drink our water directly from underground? And what does the farmer do when the cows cannot be slaughtered and sold?
This is a story about how the actions of the past affect our lives today. There is doubt, frustration, powerlessness and a little hope.
